Celebrating Black History Month 2022

The Toronto Black Media Association is a grassroots organization dedicated to connecting the city’s Black creatives to each other, providing a safe-space for them to communicate and network, and connecting them with the tools, education and support for successful career opportunities.
The Toronto Black Media Association was founded in February 2020 when Canadian content creator Shane LaTouche started a Facebook group for Toronto’s Black tv & film production community to connect and network with each other. After noticing that there was a much larger need for such a space to exist beyond just the work in television and film, Shane founded the Toronto Black Media Association with the goal of establishing an organization that would create space for everyone in the Greater Toronto Area who identifies as Black and works in a variety of media and creative platforms and fields, no longer just limited to production.
